After her husband's death, she moved to Texas and lived next door to her daughter, son-in-law, and three grandchildren. She was a music teacher at Thomas Jefferson HS in Dallas, Texas. One of her more notable students was Mike Nesmith of the Monkees. In her younger years, she "said she had been with Fred Waring and the Philadelphians at the same time Eddie Fisher started out in the same group."
