Lowell E. Forney, 86, of Toluca, IL passed away at 6:50 am on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at the Illinois Veteran's Home in Quincy, IL where he had been a resident.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Minonk or the Illinois Veterans Home Activity Fund in Quincy, IL.

Lowell was born on January 6, 1926 in Clayton Township, IL a son of Emory and Ethel Eringher (sic) Forney. He married Lisa Anna Ritschel on August 10, 1946 in Los Angeles, CA. She passed away on June 24, 2010.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sons, Evan Dale in infancy and Kyle David, two brothers, and one sister.

A Navy veteran, Lowell served his country during WWII and attained the rank of Seamen First Class. He was a member of the Minonk American Legion. He worked as a farmer and was a former board member of the Woodford County Farm Bureau.
