RIDGELEY,WEST VIRGINIA -- Fannie Lucy Chaney, 83, of Carpendale, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital.

Born March 1, 1916, in Elkins, she was the daughter of the late Martin "Bill" Leroy Holcomb and the late Lucy Ellen (Jordon) Holcomb. She was also preceded in death by her husband, the late Cloyd Levon Chaney, on April 20, 1973; and three brothers, Richard, Nelson and Denton Holcomb.

Mrs. Chaney was a graduate of Allegany High School class of 1934. She was a retired bookkeeper for her husband at Cloyd L. Chaney Moving & Storage Company. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son, Cloyd M. "John" Chaney, Carpendale; a daughter, Mary Ellen Finch, Carpendale; a granddaughter, Diana L. Hall and husband, Barry, Virginia Beach, Va.; and two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Megan Hall, Virginia Beach.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.
