A Fatal Aceident.
A most distressing accident occarcurred (sic) on the Dudley Hutcherson farm near Philadelphia last Thursday, in which Olney Bowles, the eighteen year old son of Gratz Bowles of Round Grove township lost his life. The young man was assisting several others in shredding corn, and in some manner his arm was caught in the machinery. One of his hands was cut entirely off a little about the wrist, and the flesh torn terribly and he was jerked off his feet and thrown violently against the machine, which resulted in a concussion near the base of his brain and minor injuries on his head and body. Drs. Hamlin and Glahn did all that was possible to relieve his sufferings, but it was realized from the first that he could not recover, and he died that night.
