Brigadier General George Arthur Lincoln, a Rhodes Scholar from the West Point Class of 1929, fought in World War II and was a primary planner for the invasion of Normandy. Recognizing his brilliance he became the senior planning aide to Army Chief of Staff General George Marshall and the youngest general in the army at 38. He was awarded the (2) Army Distinguished Service Metals and (2) Legion of Merit.
