Dr. Leon Prince Dies Suddenly Sunday At His Carlisle Home.
Dr. Leon Cushing Prince, former State Senator and member of the Dickinson College faculty, died suddenly yesterday morning at home, 24 Mooreland avenue, Carlisle, as a result of a heart attack.
He had just recovered from a mild attack of the grippe, which had confined him to his home for the last ten days, and was busy preparing material for his history classes at the college when he was stricken at his desk in the study of his home. He died before his physician could administer aid, ending his active life as he had always desired, suddenly.
Born in Concord, N.H., May 15, 1875, he was the son of the late Dr. Morris Watson and Katherine Buck Prince. He attended Bordentown Military School, then New York University and later went to Dickinson College where he was graduated with the bachelor of arts degree in 1898. Two years later he received his master's degree as well as the doctor of laws degree at Dickinson Law School. In 1917 the degree of doctor of literature was conferred on him by Albright College.
Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Julia Delavan Prince; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Prince Caum, of Wilmington, Del.; his mother, Mrs. Katherine Prince, of Carlisle, and a sister, Mrs. Edith Prince Swift, wife of Charles L. Swift, associate professor of English literature at Dickinson College.
