Loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather was born March 1, 1920 in Edison, Nebraska to Lafayette and May (Hollinger) Alloway. He attended school in Beaver City, Nebraska, he enjoyed sports football, basketball; he excelled in both. He graduated in 1938 and moved to Longmont, Co and joined the National Guard in 1939, CO G 45th division 157th Infantry. Pete served four years in the military; during which time he was deployed to North Africa and Sicily, Italy. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star and honorably discharged in 1945 as a Staff Sargent.
He married Ellen I. Edmonds in 1946 in Norton, Kansas. They moved back to Longmont, Colorado where Pete became a master electrician, serving his apprenticeship under Jimmy Jones and was a member of the local union.
Pete loved the mountains; and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He helped raise his three children Timothy, Rita, and Mark. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, VFW post 2601, in Longmont, CO, the American Legion 1985 in Firestone, and New Horizons Christian Church in Dacono, CO. He moved to Dacono, Colorado in 1982, he was the building inspector in 1988 and served on the City Council in 1990 and other committees.
Pete is survived by his wife Ellen; 3 children; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; and many friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
