Joyce Lightner, 80, of Endicott and Bradenton FL, passed away on July 30, 2012 at Lourdes Hospital. Joyce was born December 7, 1931, in Endicott, the daughter of the late Edward and Geraldine (Riverburg) Towsand. Joyce was a long time resident of the area and a graduate of Union-Endicott High School. She and her husband and friends enjoyed traveling throughout the country camping, including places such as the Rocky Mountains and other areas of the Midwest. Joyce was a manager at Union-Endicott food services for many years, and in her later years was an employee at the Mixon Fruit Farm gift shop in Bradenton, FL. Above all she was devoted to her husband. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years, Vern B. Lightner. She is survived by her children, Verna (Mark) Kicsak of Binghamton and Terry (Connie) Lightner of Bradenton FL; grandchildren, Amy (Hans) Geiger of Peekskill, NY, Mark (Danielle) Kicsak of St. Albans, VT, Nathan (Kerri) Lightner of Johnson City, NY, Michelle (Michael) McClenon of Apalachin, NY, Jessica (Mike) Teeter, Endicott, NY; great-grandchildren, Leah Teeter, Liam Lightner, Patrick McClenon; sister-in-law, Connie (Omar) Lightner; several nieces, nephews and close friends. A burial will take place at the convenience of the family. Contributions in Joyce's name can be made to a charity of ones choice.
