Oscar D. Mabie died at 8:10 o'clock yesterday morning at his home, 30 Third Street after a stroke of apoplexy Thursday.
Mr. Mabie was born at South Valley, New York, May 15, 1860, and graduated from Lowell Business college. After being employed in several places in the state he came to this city about 20 years ago and had since been employed at the General Electric works as inspector of the fire department.
He was married twice, his first wife being Addie Persons, on 26 March 1884,of Worcester, N.Y. On November 27 1906,he married Anna Welch of Paterson N.J. who survives him.
Mr. Mabie was a member of Schenevus Valley Lodge #592 F&AM.
He is survived by his widow, three sons, Arba, DeForest and Dorr, and his Mother, Mrs. Louise Mabie, and two brothers and two sisters, Elmer and Gifford and Maude and Eva of South Valley.
There will be a brief service at the house at 2 o'clock this afternoon, after which the body will be taken to South Valley, where the funeral will take place to-morrow, with burial in the South Valley cemetery.
