He was a retired Free Methodist minister with 45 years of pastoral services in the churches at Tunnell Hill, Tennyson, Birds, West Salem, Decker, St. Francisville and Flat Rock.
Born in Crawford County, Ind., April 11, 1905, he was the son of John and Katherine (Engelman) Belcher. February 25, 1932, he was married to Hazel M. Knight who survives him.
Also surviving are one son, Loren Belcher of Hazelton, Ind.; two daughters, Mrs. Wendell Steffey of Rt. 1 Flat Rock and Vonda Belcher of Birds; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Two grandchildren preceded him in death.
Funeral rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Free Methodist Church in Birds with the Rev. Roger Johnson and the Rev. Morris Larymore officiating. Interment will follow in Lawrenceville Cemetery.
