Buffalo – Services for Sarrah L. Clark, 78, will be Thursday at 1:30 pm in the First Congregational Church of Buffalo; the Rev. Tom Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Buffalo Cemetery under direction of Kinkade Funeral Chapel of Sturgis. A memorial has been established.

Mrs. Clark died Monday morning in Sturgis Community Hospital. She was born in Emmons County, ND, July 11, 1904, to Harvey and Laura Smith and grew up in the Bismarck area.

On October 31, 1923, she married Curtis Clark at Bismarck. They moved to Camp Crook in 1931 and to Buffalo in 1944. For many years, she worked as a custodian in the Buffalo Masonic Temple, Buffalo schools, and the Harding County Courthouse. She moved to Sturgis last October.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Buffalo.

Survivors include Mrs. Clark of Sturgis, and Thomas Clark of Canton; 6 daughters, Laura Fladmoe of Sturgis, Susan Nitschke of Miles City, MT, Ilean Verhulst of Casper, WY, Alice O'Byrne of Nashville, TN, Gladys Johnston of Prineville, OR, and Phyllis Matson of Buffalo; 5 brothers, John and Boyd Smith of Tacoma, WA, Frank Smith of Dallas, TX, Howard Smith of Pangburn, AR, and George Smith of Ashcroft, BC; 3 sisters, Ellen Little of Dresden, OH, Wilma Timmer of Sebastopol, CA, and Min Patenode of Buffalo; 34 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1977, a son, John, and 2 sisters.
