Wiletta was a former Special Education Teacher, Principal, University Professor and Counselor. She came to Tucson in 1962 for her children's health. As an elementary teacher she worked for many school districts in Tucson becoming a resource teacher assisting classroom teachers in their instruction. Her interest in helping students and teachers manage classroom behaviors led her to a degree in Special Education and principalship at Myers-Ganoung School where she remained until her retirement. She was instrumental in establishing the foundation of services to the Developmentally Disabled in TUSD in the 1970's and 80's and was a consultant for the State Department of Education. Wiletta loved teaching University classes of special education student teachers and was still teaching until the fall of 1999. She appreciated art and music and attended concerts, opera, musicals and ballet with equal enthusiasm. She enjoyed traveling the world until diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and entering an assisted living community.
