James B. Riddle is the son of Benjamin & Jemima (Hawkins) Riddle of N.C. and McMinn County Tenn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou (Reed) Riddle of Tn. also. She died in 1857 in Tn. Their children are: Mary Francis, Hiley C. & one son, Abraham B. Riddle. A sister, Mary and brothers are: Lewis, Abraham, & Benjamin Riddle. He is the Grandfather of George, Harvey, Ivisson & Frank H. Ridde, Mary Evelyn, Callie, & Jessie. (These children were not born when James B. Riddle died.)
James B. Riddle was in the Texas Rangers in 1861 and from there his whole unit was transferred into the Army until the end of the war. His military papers are on file in Austin, Texas.
