William W. Ferguson, died Tuesday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Margaret Anderson near Waynoka, while visiting at her home and that of his son A.J. Ferguson. The cause of death was old age with a complication of diseases, after but a few days illness. Wednesday funeral services were conducted by Rev. Roper at the Anderson home and the body laid to rest in the Waynoka cemetery. Deceased was born in Tennessee Dec. 28, 1826 and at the age of 13 moved to Kentucky where resided until 1850 when he moved to Sheridan (Chariton) county, Mo., and in 1856 was married to Francis A. Price, and to this union was born nine children, five sons and four daughters; the four daughters and two of the sons are still living, they being A.J. Ferguson and Mrs. Anderson of Waynoka, S.D. Ferguson of Floydada, Texas, Mrs. Fannie Twitchel of St. Catherine, Mo., Mrs. Mary Messenger (Messinger) of Ashland, Kas., and Mrs. Liza Carr, of Brunswick, Mo., and all excepting Mrs. Carr were at the bedside of the father when the end came, as was also a nephew, Jacob Smith of Yelton, Okla.
Deceased was a Confederate soldier and served about one year in that cause.
