Laura was a lifelong resident of Corrales. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Cook, widowed; her brothers and sisters, Augustine Chavez and wife Annie, Gusto Chavez and wife Nancy Greer, Agnes Hester, Isabel Wilder, Rita Baldonado, Martha Lucero and husband Amadeo; daughter-in-law and caretaker, Patricia Cook, wife of Carey Cook; grandchildren, Charlie Cook, Karen Rael, Kenneth and Nicole Cook, David and Michele Cook, Michael and Angela Cook, Adam and Heather Wright; her many great-grandchildren.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Rosita Chavez; her beloved son, Charles Carey Cook; sister, Rosita Silva; brother, Salomon Chavez. Laura was a successful career woman, working in the medical industry as a Registered Nurse for over 51 years until her retirement. "Nannie" will be fondly remembered as a loving daughter, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She provided a special place in Corrales for all her family to gather and spend endless summers enjoying her company in the yard. She will be dearly missed
