She went on to have a 43-year career performing in many venues around the world, including the Royal Albert Hall in London, England, and Carnegie Hall in New York City, New York. She earned five Grammy Awards, including one for the hit song, "Set Him Free," in 1959, the same year she joined the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. She achieved a hit song with "End Of The World" in 1963, and later produced hit singles, "I Forgot More Than You'll Ever Know," "Gonna Get Along Without You," "I'm Saving My Love," and "I Can't Stay Mad At You." She toured with Elvis Presley and the Rolling Stones, and published her autobiography, "Bus Fare To Kentucky," in 1993.
