Carolyn Atwater Platt, 82, of Suffield Sunday, September 24, 2006 after a two and 1/2 year struggle with cancer. Born in New Jersey, Carolyn graduated from Red Bank High School and received a B.A. in Chemistry from Mount Holyoke in 1945. She married and raised three children, then continued her education at Asbury Park Community College in 1965. She taught 1st grade from 1965-1968 in Long Branch, NJ Public School. She then moved to Suffield and worked as a Building Manager for Performance, Inc. of East Granby for 18 years. Carolyn was an active member of the Mt. Holyoke Society, Hartford Chapter, as well as a member of The 1st Church of Christ, Congregational in Suffield.

She is survived by her husband, Edmund C. Platt of Fort Meyers, FL.; her daughter, Susan Evans Critton of Salem, MA; her son, Benjamin Atwater Critton of Seneca Falls, NY; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
