Bonnel Rites Tomorrow
Mrs. Minnie Mae Bonnel, 76, 1031 Kansas avenue, widow of Henry Bonnel, died at 10:22 o'clock Friday night at the Atchison hospital where she had been a patient since Nov. 23, she had been in declining health a year and seriously ill about two weeks.
Mrs. Bonnel and her late husband farmed many years in the Effingham – Nortonville community, later retiring to their home in Effingham. After the death of her husband in 1951 she moved to the present home in Atchison.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Stanton chapel, Dr. Roy Brady, pastor of the First Methodist church, will officiate. Burial will be in the family lot at Evergreen cemetery in Effingham.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 o'clock at the Stanton funeral home.
Minnie Mae Bagby, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.A. Bagby, was born May 4, 1887, at Skidmore, Mo. The family moved to Kansas when she was a young girl and lived many years in the Effingham and Nortonville communities. She was married to Henry E. Bonnel Sept. 2, 1906, at Skidmore.
Mrs. Bonell was a member of the Methodist church here and the Effingham Rebekah lodge.
She was a devoted mother and wife and was know for many other fine qualities of heart and mind. She had many friends, especially in the Effingham and Atchison areas.
Mrs. Bonnel leaves two sons and a daughter, Ralph O. Bonnel of Crawfordsville, Ind., LeRoy H. Bonell, Atchison, route 1, and Mrs. Raymond (Pearl) Voelker Leavenworth, route3. She also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Herbert Barber, Atchson, Mrs. Ray Nye, Kansas City, Kas., and Mrs. James Grimes, Goff; two brothers, C.H. Bagby, Big Springs, Neb., and James R. Bagby, Rogers, Ark., and four grandchildren, Gary Voelker, Dallas, Larry L. Voelker, with the U.S. Airforce in Frankfurt, Germany, and Terry and Jeanette Voelker, Leavenworth, and a number of nieces and nephews.
