PIONEER LADY DIED HERE LAST WEDNESDAY

Miss Emma Ende passed away at her home on North Johnson street in Greenville, Wednesday, May 19.

She was a daughter of Fred von Ende, founder of the Armistead & Ende Hardware firm and organizer of the Fred Ende Odd Fellow lodge here, and was born in 1861 at the family home on North Stonewall street now occupied by Dr. and Mrs. D. L.Gaillard, the later being a sister.

Miss Ende was educated in the Greenville schools, specializing in music and art anl (sic) studied under the instructors in St. Louis. For most of her life she had been a member of Wesley Methodist church and served for a number of years as organist.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Gaillard and Mrs. Bertha Clayton. One brother, Elard Ende and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral services were held at the home of Mrs.Clayton, conducted by Rev. W. E. Graham with interment at East Mount cemetery.
