Frantisek Kluzak was born on January 30, 1862 in Svinkach, Bohemia of the Austrian Empire, the son of Matyas and Katherina Hula (Svec) Kluzak.

Frantisek, his parents and five brothers departed from Bremen, Germany on the ship SS Main for their new home in America. They arrived in the port of New York, New York on November 17, 1870. Upon leaving New York and heading west, the family stopped in Cleveland, Ohio. Son, Jan found employment there and the other family members continued on their way to Southern Minnesota.

On January 17, 1871, Matyas, Katherina and sons were living in Lanesburgh township, LaSueur County, Minnesota, where on this date their daughter, Mary was born. Mary passed away in infancy.

At the time of the US census in 1880, the parents and five sons were living in a Bohemian Settlement in St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota. Frank lived in Polk County, Minnesota in the early 1880's where he had homesteaded land in Tabor township.

Frank and Mary Wavra were married in 1887 in Minnesota. They lived in St. Paul, Minnesota for a time, then in East Grand Forks, Minnesota where Frank owned a saloon. In 1914 they returned to St. Paul and spent the rest of their lives there.

Frank and Mary had three children, namely, Sylvia, Frances "Lillian", and Horace.

Frank passed away on January 13, 1935 at Anchor Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. Frank is survived by his daughters, Sylvia (William) Engelking of St. Paul and Lillian Williams of St. Paul; son, Horace and his wife, Lola Kluzek of Havre, Montana; 3 grandsons, Robert, Richard and Theodore Kluzek; brothers, George, Joseph and Michael Kluzak.
