Tabitha (Ayers) Barber -- the 7th of 14 children of Philander and Nancy (Eagon) Ayers -- was born in Noble County but quickly moved with her family to their new farm in Kirkwood Twp, Belmont Cty, Ohio in 1863 on their farm on both sides of what is now County Road 100 north of the National Road and near the Union Twp border. She married James Barber, who lived on a small farm in Union Twp just northwest of Morristown Ohio -- and not far from her family's farm -- on December 31, 1885. They lived in that area (Union Twp/Morristown area) all their lives. James was a farmer. They had 3 daughters and 1 son together. They married in a Methodist Episcopal Church but at least later in life were members of the Morristown Presbyterian Church. She died at home in Morristown, of a stroke.
