GLOUSTER--Frank Hayden, 43, of Derthick, a pumper in mine 10 at that place was found dead in the mine about 11:45 Tuesday morning by Sam Johnson, a timberman employed in the mine. The body was cold when found and death had probably occurred a couple of hours earlier.
The body was taken out of the mine and brought to the undertaking rooms of L.R. Andrews in this city Tuesday afternoon. Arrangements were made for a post mortem examination to be made Wednesday morning, but a report was not obtainable at the time this was written.
Mr. Hayden is survived by his widow and five children--the oldest but 12 years of age. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Hayden of Derthick and a brother to Walter Hayden, superintendent of mine 10.
Funeral services will be held at the Hollister church Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by the pastor. Glouster Lodge, No. 326, Knights of Pythias of the city of which the deceased was a member will be in charge.
Burial will probably be made in the Hollister cemetery.
