Information from Little Cedar Lutheran Church, written in 1996:
Harriet Knutson was born on March 9, 1916, to Jacob and Hattie (Wiste) Knutson on a farm northwest of Adams. She graduated from Adams High School and attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City. Harriet worked at the Mower County Courthouse for six years.

She married Earl Weness on September 20, 1942. They farmed one mile north of Adams until their retirement in 1976, when they moved to town.

Harriet and Earl have three children: Erlin, Roger, and Janet. They have seven grandchildren all living close enough they see them often.

Harriet has been active in many church and community activities. She is a life-long member of Little Cedar Church and was chairperson for the church's 125th anniversary celebration. She especially enjoyed working on the church archives. She has excellent records of community and family history and the family marvels at the fact that she can "look up" any information needed on past events.

Her favorite hymn is "My God and I.' Her favorite prayer is the Serenity Prayer.
