Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at the Tennessee Presbyterian Church in Tenaha with Bro. Kenneth Verner & Rev. Ashley Cook officiating. Burial will follow at the Tennessee Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 8, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Mangum Funeral Home.
Mr. Pollard was born March 14, 1913 in Rusk County to Parents, Daniel & Kizzie Pollard. He graduated from Tenaha High School. At the age of 29 he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Normandy Invasion. He went in on the third wave to set up telegraph communications and he was also in charge of the commissary. His early career began setting up Forum Cafeterias in Kansas and Texas which later became Wyatt's Cafeteria and currently Luby's Cafeteria. He served as a District Governor of AARP. He also sold insurance for Rio Grande Life Insurance & Kentucky Central for many years. He was a member of the Tennessee Methodist Church in the Tennessee Community for many years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel & Kizzie Pollard, Wife, Evelyn Crawford Pollard,
Son, Doyle Ray Pollard and Siblings; William, Joe, Marshall, Curtis, Pauline, Mary, Wilma, Mildred & Francis.
He is survived by:
