Herrin - Mary J. [Jessie] Keating, 91, died at 10:53 am Monday, Dec 11, 2000 at the Friendship Care Center in Herrin.

Mrs. Keating was born May 28, 1909 in Plumfield to John Henry and Nancy Jane (Davis) Appleton.

She first married Pearl B. Holland. After his death she married Orville Keating on June 17, 1966, in Aurora. He died Dec 1, 1998.

She was a nurse. She was a member of the Herrin First Christian Church and past member of the Eastern Star.

Suvivors include one niece, Mary jean Gross of Austin, texas; a great-nephew; several cousins; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Gloria Anderson of Herrin.

Her parents, one son, Jerry Russell Holland and two brothers, Paul and Snyder Appleton also preceded her in death.

Burial: Denning Cemetery, Orient.
