Rita Cumming Sanford, 82, formerly of 4615 Brompton Drive in Greensboro, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2002, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.
A Catholic service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday,Sept. 25, 2002, at Forbis &DickGuilford Chapel, 5926 W. Friendly Ave. Burial will follow in Guilford Memorial Park.
Born in Trinidad, British West Indies, she spent the majority of her life in Greensboro.
Mrs. Sanford is survived by her children, Frank Sanford III and wife,Terry of Matthews, Peter Sanford and wife,Terri of Richmond,Va. and Jackie Winther of Greensboro; sisters, Katy Pope and Enid Ewing of Sebring,Fla., Molly Maurette of California as well as 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank. L. Sanford Jr.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, at Forbis &Dick Guilford Chapel.
