Rev. James Joseph Tyrrell,a native New Yorker came to St. Thomas Parish on Dec. 7,1905.Before this he had been a Pastor in Southboro and Millbury,MA.He came to St. Thomas after a fire which destroyed the church and rectory.Insurance covered most of the rebuilding.He died in his bed on Oct. 22,1925.
