Obituary: "Mrs. Alice G. McDonald, 85, of 95 Edgewood Dr, Grafton, died last night at Elyria Memorial Hospital after a lingering illness. Born in Grand Rapids, MI on April 5, 1892, she was an area resident most of her life. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. William (Maxine M.) Lance of Grafton and Mrs. Mary P. Christian of North Ridgeville; a son, Gerald U. of Shiloh; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry in October 1961, one daughter, Theda, and one sister. Friends will be received tomorrow from 7-9pm at the Harold Dicken Funeral Home, where funeral services will be Friday at 1:30pm. The Reverend David L. Bush of the LaPorte United Methodist Church will officiate, with burial in Litchfield Cemetery." (Elyria Chronicle Telegram 24 Aug 1977)
