Isaac Weinberg was born in Charleston, SC, the son of Benedict & Frannie Reis Weinberg, immigrants from Prussia. Benedict was a tailor and clothing merchant. By 1870 Isaac and his brother Louis had relocated to the town of Timmonsville in Darlington County, and opened a grocery store. After later moving to New York state Isaac moved back to Darlington County, where he was engaged in farming in the Dovesville community.
