I came from Swiss heritage with that hard working, frugal, stubborn streak and a pioneering spirit which served me well in raising my family.
I finally got invited to the glorious party on the other side on Saturday, August 4, 2012. At 97, I am the last to arrive of my brothers and sisters. Those already attending the party are my darling sweetheart Keith, daughter Kay Lyn, and grandchildren John, Robert and Hillary.
I always liked playing tricks and cooking wonderful foods. I also loved playing games and having things special, festive and fun for my family.
I'm grateful for my 35 grandchildren and 105 great grandchildren, who have made me laugh and have given me much joy and kept me young.
Instead of sending flowers, my wish is that you spend that money to make a memory with a loved one. It might be doing something special like taking a grandchild out for ice cream.
Those on the waiting list to attend the party are Carol's children: Boyd and Clifta Tobler, LaDean and Bruce Church, Norma and Sid Wright, Rex and Kathy Tobler, Patsy and Richard Wilson, Titine and Rick Jenkins.
We love you Mom; we will treasure your precious memory and example, your sweet testimony, and the legacy you've given us. We recognize your love and sacrifice that you've shown us throughout your life.
You'll be the queen of the party as you were to our family.
