in 1954. Art attended schools in Kansas
and Iowa, and in 1944 enlisted in the
Marine Corps, honorably discharged in
1946.
On December 10, 1950 Art and Darlene
Kischer were united in marriage at
St. Peter Lutheran Church, Newell. Art
worked as a mechanic foreman for
Bodaken's Implement in Storm Lake. In
1960 they moved to the farm north of
Newell, where he farmed for 34 years,
retiring in 1994.
Art was a member of St. Peter
Lutheran Church, Newell, and at the time
of his death was on the Board of Trustees.
One of Art's favorite pastimes was
telling stories to his grandchildren about
the funny things they did and said when
they were very young. His hobbies were
fishing, electronics and car racing.
He was preceded in death by his parents
and brother Wayne.
