Harvey L. Jenkins, 71, a cashier in the Citizens Bank of Sparta from its founding in 1919 until his retirement in 1963, died early Monday at his home here. A native of the Mount Comfort community north of Springfield, he had been a Sparta resident since a small child. He was a member of the Sparta Christian Church.

Survivors are his wife, Grace; a son, James, Sparta; three daughters, Mrs. June Barrett and Mrs. Florence Hayes, both of Springdale, Ark. and Mrs. Virginia Kissee, Sparta; two sisters, Mrs. Dona Wise and Mrs. Georgia Hale, both of Sparta; 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Harris Chapel at Ozark. The Rev. Faust Matthews officiated and burial was in Sparta Cemetery.
