Mr. John James Wells, 86, went to be with has Lord at the home of his son, James Acree Wells, near Callands, VA after an illness of five days.

He was born in Franklin County, VA, but had spent most of his life in the Callands Community.

Surviving are one daughter Mrs. J W Marlow of Callands and two sons James Acree Wells of Callands and John Morton Wells of Atlanta, GA, two brothers C W Wells of Callands and R L Wells of Martinsville, VA. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren and 9 great granchildren.

Funeral services were held at County Line Christian Church with the Reverend W C Clark officiating.

Burial followed in the family burial ground.

Pallbearers were Curtis Wells, J P Wells, Oliver Wells, Charlie Reynolds, Brad Wells, Thomas Wells, Lloyd Wells and Levi Wells.

Honorary pallbearers were Tim Dunn, Lonza Amos, George Gauldin, Dr S A Reynolds, Dr J E Richardson, Dr J P Scott, John L Reynolds, W A Reynolds, Stover Mahan, C A Marlowe, Odie Allen, M M Lawrence, Fletcher Marlowe, Lee Gauldin, G A Finney, Archie Cousins and S G Wells.
