Funeral services for Francis G. Burgess, who was superintendent of Bellefontaine Cemetery for 26 years, will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. in the Danforth chapel of the Pilgrim Congregational Church, 826 Union boulevard. Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
Mr. Burgess, who had been employed at the cemetery from 1901 up to the time of his retirement in 1951, died today at Jewish Hospital of cancer. He was 86 years old. He had lived, before entering Jewish Hospital a month ago, at 6015 Maple avenue.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Irma Burgess; and adopted son, Dr. George Burgess of San Antonio, Tex., and two brothers, William Burgess and George Burgess, Johnsville, N.Y.
