Ronald E. Haines, 70, of Orviston, passed away Friday, Aug. 3, 2012 at his home. He was born in Bellefonte on Aug. 8, 1941, the son of the late Herbert and Josephine Stull Haines.
On Nov. 11, 1965 he married Eleanor L. Confer who preceded him in death.
Ronald was a boiler maintenance employee for the Lock Haven University for 29 1/2 years, retiring in 2002.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the 3 pt. Sportsman Lodge in Snow Shoe. He enjoyed auctions, the outdoors, going to camp and tinkering around.
He is survived by five sons, Ronald E. Jr., Michael, and Eric all of Orviston and Jeffrey and Jody of Beech Creek; one daughter, Sharon Smith of Beech Creek; and two brothers, Dwayne Haines of Blanchard and Barry of Beech Creek.
He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main St., Howard with the Rev. Karl Steele officiating.
Friends and family will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home today.
Burial will be at the Hays-Fearon Cemetery.
