She was born in Beaumont on October 14, 1926, to Ada Lee Foust Johnson and Adolph William Johnson, Sr.
Margie's main focus was her family. She enjoyed fishing and most anything outdoors; she was self taught to play the piano, painting, and many other hobbies. She embraced her faith and was a longtime member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Nederland.
Survivors include her husband, Elbert "Gunner" Walters of Port Neches; daughters, Christy Day and her husband, Charles, of Orange; and Cathy Calame and her husband, Danny, of Nederland; grandchildren, Lisa Thompson and her husband, Kevin; Britt Valenta and his wife, Julie; Cody Calame and his wife, Taylor; Stephanie Huebel and her husband, Jeff; Phillip Valenta and his wife, Cassady; Bryan Calame; Lindsey Schwartz and her husband, David; Matthew Day; and Christopher Day; and four great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband and father of her children, Thomas Bruce, Jr.; three brothers; and three sisters.
Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Nederland, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
