Ronald was born and raised in Exeter.He was
seriously injured when he was 16 months old
due to a skull fracture when he was struck
by a car being backed out of the driveway.It
was believed that he was hiding under a car
from a visitor that was visiting his parents.
Ronald was taken to the Children's Hospital
in Boston.
While attending school he played in the high
school band and graduated from Exeter High
School.
He had a motorcycle that he rode around in
Exeter with his dog sitting in front of him.
Ronald enlisted in the Navy 27 April 1965 at
the Portsmouth Recruiting Office for 2 years.
While home on leave Ronald and Jane were
married 27 October 1966.They had a daughter
29 April 1967
He completed his 2 year service and returned
home.After being home for a few days Ronald
went and enlisted in the Navy again on 17 May
1967.
Arriving in Vietnam 15 October 1967 Ronald
was assigned to H&S Company,2nd Battalion,
3rd Marine Regiment,3rd Marine Division.
The Marines and Ronald stopped an attack on
the Tu Cau Bridge that would have helped the
attacking NVA into dividing the Marine forces
and knock out the tower where the Marine FO
had zeroed in on the NVA rocket team.
Ronald risked his own life in helping wounded
Marine friends into the compound and his
steady fire kept the superior forces of the NVA
from over running the platoon.
Ronald died as a result of gunshot wounds to
the body from hostile forces rifle fire during
combat in the vicinity of Lo Giang on the east
bank of the Vinh Dien River,7 kilometers south
southeast of the Danang Airfield.
Ronald was married and served his country for
2 years,10 months and 13 days.KIA#21,943.
He had been in Vietnam for 3 months and 25
days.
Ronald was 19 years,11 months and 24 days old.
He died 7 days before his 20th birthday.
Survived by his wife;Jane H Keller and his 10
month old daughter;Rhonda Sue Keller of
Portsmouth Ave,Stratam,NH.
His parents;Carroll Norman & Frances Tibbetts
Keller of 10 Stoney Break Lane,Exeter,NH.
His brother;Ralph Mervin Keller of Exeter and
his 2 sisters;Judith Keller Day of Exeter and
Carlene McLane of Haverhill,MASS.

Ronald was the 93rd New Hampshire service-
man to died in Vietnam at that time.
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist
Church of Exeter 29 February 1968 with Navy
Chaplain Dean W Pederson conducting the
funeral service.

Funeral Home.
