He was born on March 22, 1918 in Crystal City, MO to Charles and Gertrude (Bequette) Dana.

On May 7, 1949 he was united in marriage to Ruth Felden at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Wood River, IL. She passed away on August 10, 2006.

Al served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II and was stationed in Europe as a ball turret gunner on a B17. He worked as a foreman at Laclede Steel for over 30 years retiring in 1978. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto.

He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Patty and Larry Hellrung of Alton and Jackie and Mike Hudock of Bethalto; five sisters and a brother-in-law, Gertrude King of Moline, Betty Briskovich of Bunker Hill, Bobbie Katich of Merlin, OR, Rita Smith of Bunker Hill and Helen and Steve Zink of Springfield, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Charles Dana and Joseph Dana and two sisters, Bernice Dana and Margaret Oldenettel.
