James Keltner, 84, 1210 Keltner Road, Columbia, KY, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at 10:15am CT, at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, KY, after an illness.
The funeral service will be Friday, September 22, 2006, at 1:00pm CT at Stotts-Phelps- McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY.
He was the son of the late Leslie and Mattie Shepherd Keltner of Adair County.
Mr. Keltner was a member of the Columbia United Methodist Church. He was a life long dairy farmer and he was serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Dairy Association of Kentucky. He was involved with various local dairy and farming boards and committees.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruby Reed Keltner, Columbia, KY, and the following: One daughter: Sandra Watts and husband Chris of Columbia, KY
Two grandchildren: Donna Hammond and husband Jody, Columbia, KY; and Wes Stephens and wife Jodie, Columbia, KY
Two grandchildren: Donna Hammond and husband Jody, Columbia, KY; and Wes Stephens and wife Jodie, Columbia, KY
Two step grandchildren: Allan Watts and Andy Watts
He was preceded in death by three sisters: Shirley Keltner, Jeanie Wilson and Frances Young.
Burial in the Haven Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 3:30 P.M. on Thursday, September 21, 2006, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the Columbia United Methodist Church and may be left at the funeral home.
