Rhonda Eileen Jorgensen died at home in Cheney on June 18 following a courageous 12 1/2-year-long battle with cancer.

She was born January 24, 1965 in Provo, Utah. She moved to Cheney where she has lived since 1968. During her struggle with cancer, she continued to be an active and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving in many capacities, including serving as an Ordinance Worker in the Spokane, Wash. Temple until her health prevented her from doing so.

She is survived by her parents, Clay and Doris Jorgensen of Cheney; a brother Elmer Jorgensen and wife Sarah of Medical Lake; a brother Layne Jorgensen and wife Leanne of Roseburg, Ore.; a sister Julia Jorgensen Rogers and husband Jay of Boardman, Ore.; a sister Sheila Jorgensen Graham and husband Lee of Pasco, Wash.; fifteen adoring nieces and nephews; and countless aunts, uncles and cousins; and last, but not least, her faithful dog Gretchen.

She was preceded in death by her four grandparents and a nephew. She was deeply loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

She was honored in a funeral service at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Chapel in Cheney Friday, June 24. Internment was at the Fairview Cemetery, Salnave Road in Cheney.
