LEXINGTON — Sara Elizabeth Magalis Price, 96, wife of the late Launie
Clarence "Red" Price, went to be with her Lord Thursday, November 30, 2006.
>From Columbia, she was born March 31, 1910, the daughter of the late Perle
Gaston and Charles Lawrence Magalis. She is survived by her daughter, Elisabeth
Price; son, Charles Price and his wife, Juddy; grandchildren, Linda Price,
Donna Price Campbell and her husband, Tim, and Barry Price;
great-grandchildren, Erin Hill, Price Campbell, Rebecca Campbell, Morgan Price and Andrew
Price; sisters, June Fanning and Shirley Milam; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Hyatt Park High School, Columbia, in 1926 and for most of
her senior year, at age 15, was editor-in-chief of the year book. In 1930 she
graduated from the University of South Carolina with a B.A. degree. Most of
her life was lived in Charleston, where she taught elementary school grades
in Goose Creek and Brentwood. She was a member of First Baptist Church for 60
years, where she taught children and youth.
Visitation will be Saturday 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch
Fork Chapel, Irmo. Graveside service, conducted by the Rev. Ted Robertson, will
be Saturday at 4 p.m. in South End Cemetery, Bamberg.
Memorials may be made to New Covenant Church, 767 Lee Road, Clyde, NC 28721
for Scotland Missions-Elisabeth Price.
