Funeral services for Helen D.(Kaib) Wilfinger, 80, of Mentor, will be 9 p.m. Tuesday at Brunner Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
Mrs Wilfinger died May 19, 2006, at Lake West Hospital in Willoughby.
Born Oct. 7, 1916, in Butler, Pa., she moved to Lake County in 1969.
She graduated from Cleveland Heights High School in 1935, and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Mentor. She loved to do needle point and acrostic puzzles, and travel.
Mrs. Wilfinger worked as a nurse's aid in New York and Cleveland area hospitals. In later years she worked as a sales clerk and in food preparation at various department stores. She retired from Higbee Company in Mentor in 1978.
Survivors include her son, Robert (Rebecca) Wilfinger of Laurel, Md.; daughter, Juliana Wilfinger of Mentor; brother, Robert (Marilyn) Ward of Wadsworth; sisters-in-law, Rita Kaib of Elyria, Grace Kaib of Oakland, Calif., and Juliana (Ali) Nager of Graz, Austria; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph in 1989, whom she married in 1941, in New York; parents, Robert and Helen Marie (Foster)Kaib; sisters, Pearl, Marie and Florence Kaib; and brothers, Frank, Clarence, Willard and Paul Kaib.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Ronald LePere of Faith Lutheran Church will officiate at the services. Interment will be at Whitehaven Cemetery in Mayfield Heights.
