New York, Feb 16 -- Mrs. Alice Morse Earle, author of a number of well known books on colonial life in New England, died of general breakdown today at the home of her son, Alexander Morse Earle, in Hempstead, L. I.
She was 58 years old and a native of Worcester, Mass. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Colonial Dames and the American Historical Association.
