SANTA ROSA, Calif. - Edna Osterberg Collet, 92, of Santa Rosa, Calif., passed away on July 21, 2012. She was born on Oct. 28, 1919, in Rock, on the farm her parents homesteaded. Edna was the daughter of Erick Osterberg and Hannah (Erickson) Osterberg.

Edna graduated from Rock High School and later moved to California. She became a stewardess for United Airlines in the late 1940s, during the days when women wore dresses with gloves and men wore suits and ties to travel.

Edna loved flowers and almost always had small arrangements of items from her garden at various places in her house. She enjoyed travel and managed to make friends wherever she went. She will be greatly missed by her family.

Edna is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard Collet of Santa Rosa, Calif.; daughters, Susan (Paul) Byrne of Redmond, Wash., and Robin (Bruce Kenner) Collet of Petaluma, Calif.; and granddaughters, Siobhan Byrne and Daina Byrne.

In Michigan, she is survived by niece, Kay (Jerry) Shapy and their daughter, Leslie; nephew, Dale (Joyce) Osterberg and their children, Jay (Michelle) Osterberg and Kathy Robitaille, and her daughter, Jenna Robitaille. There are numerous surviving relatives in Finland.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, Erick and Hannah Osterberg; brothers, Floyd, Allen, Jay, and David Osterberg; sisters, Hazel Quinn, and Linnea Kindig.
