"Death Angel Busy.
The death angel has been busy the past two weeks, and the aged, the middle-aged and the young have fallen victims before the Keen Sickle. One of our people to be gathered Monday morning was Mrs. May Gunderson, wife of Albert Gunderson. She expired in St. Mary's Hospital at 3 o'clock, after an illness extending over several months. The immediate cause of death being a tumorous growth. In the death of Mrs. Gunderson, Pierre people fully and keenly recognize their loss. She was a true friend and her devotion to those she loved would make a bright chapter in any life. Nothing but the thought of the loving hand that has removed her can reconcile her absence. While she has gone from the scenes, the conflicts, the sorrows and pleasures of life, she will still live in the hearths of her acquaintances. Her retiring nature led her to hide her best qualities from public view, but they were revealed to those who enjoyed her acquaintance; yet, it was in her home that her true worth was most conspicuous. She was a kind and dutiful wife and mother; her devotion to the family circle had no limit. Her future was full of promise and we dare not ask why she was called from earth away, unless flowers are picked before the frosts finds them that we may not witness their decay. It is sad, indeed, to see one so well equipped for life taken from amongst us; yet for her there was no standing on the borderland; for death came as the sunset dies along the hills when the day is over. A life that imparts such lessons is well worth the living.
Mrs. Gunderson was a member of the local lodge of Eastern Star, under the direction of which the funeral services were held yesterday, from Trinity P.E. Church. Members of the local bar association were the pall bearers. Floral decorations were strewn with lavish hand."
