Whitney went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 29, 2004, at 8 a.m. in Gonzales at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He worked diligently as a truck driver for many years.
Survivors include a son, Whitney J. Hunt Jr. and wife Juanita of Gonzales; a brother-in-law, Jimmy Jeansonne of Baton Rouge; two grandchildren, Michael A. Hunt and wife Patricia of Lafayette and Dennis M. Hunt of St. Amant; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Edmonia M. Hunt; his wife, Eve Pousson Hunt; and a sister, Effie H. Jeansonne.
A rosary will be prayed by Deacon Carlo Cannatello at 10 a.m. Monday. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Monday, May 31, 2004, from 8 a.m. until time of service. Visitation will be at Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home located on the Old Sunset Highway.
