Brother of City Clerk Dies at 71
Funeral services for Walter S Denton, 71, of Marysville, Yuba County, and brother of Sacramento City Clerk Harry G Denton will be conducted at 3pm Monday from the W.G. Culjis Funeral Home 2231 J Street. Burial will be in City Cemetery.
Denton died yesterday in a local hospital, following a long illness.
A native of Sacramento, he was born April 8, 1882, a son of the late Charles and Annie Denton. He attended the Sacramento Schools.
He went to Marysville about 1900 and was employed there as a barber until his health failed a few years ago. He made his home in Marysville, Yuba County.
He never married. Also surviving are sisters Mrs Lillie M Chapman of Albany, and Mrs Lola E Crawford of Tulare, and a niece and nephew, Mrs Leila B Balding of Albany and Elmer D Hornlein of Sacramento.
