Kristen Elysse Shelton 21, of Patrick Springs died Saturday August 4, 2012 at her home. She was born in Eden N.C. on June 19, 1991 the daughter of James and Patricia Shelton of the home. She was preceded in death by a brother John Robert Shelton and grandfathers John Shelton and Robert D. Turner. Kristen was a member of Ridgeway Church of God and also Stella Christian Church. The Make A Wish Foundation fulfilled her wish of meeting Dale Earnheart, Jr, and the Children's Wish Foundation made her wish come true also by meeting Hillary Duff, and at other various times Kristen had also met race car drivers Carl Edwards, Denny Hamlin and Bill Elliott
In addition to her parents she is survived by one brother Steve Shelton of Patrick Springs and grandparents Gracie and Herbert Cobbler of Ridgeway and Florence Shelton of Patrick Springs. Visitation will be Monday August 6 from 6-8 p.m. at Stella Christian Church. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday August 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Stella Christian Church with Minister Steve Hayes, Rev. Dr. Bruce Hagy and Rev. Kenny Daniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Stella Christian Church Cemetery. Bassett Funeral Service in Bassett is in charge of the arrangements.
