Nancy is the daughter of Gasper Bogard and Rebecca Nicholas.

OBITUARY: Nancy Bogard was born in McCutcheonville, Seneca County, Ohio, July 1, 1844, the daughter of Gasper and Rebecca Bogard. When she was ten years of age she came to Illinois with her parents. The new home was made in Wyoming, Illinois. Here she lived until she married Anthony S. Sturm on March 10, 1864. Mr. Sturm at the time was in the Union Army serving in Company H of the 51 Illinois Volunteers. He came to Wyoming for the marriage and then returned to his regiment. He was a Sergeant. Seven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Sturm, two of them now deceased.

At the close of the war the family home was moved to Henry for a few years, then back to Wyoming and then about 65 years ago to Bradford. The golden wedding anniversary was celebrated in 1914. They since resided here.

Mrs. Sturm lost three members of her family by death, her son Elmer, passed away May 30, 1909; her husband passed away March 10, 1915; and her daughter, Mrs. Kate Sturm Ericson passed away August 9, 1929. Mrs. Sturm Joined the United Brethren Church when she was a young girl. When she came to Bradford she brought her membership to the Methodist Chruch here. She was a woman of strong Christian faith and very earnest in her use of the Bible and prayer.

For a number of months Mrs. Sturm has been in very pour health, but she bore her affection with great courage and patience. She departed this life at her home Tuesday evening at 6:30 PM, April 16, 1935 at the age of 90 years, 9 months and 16 days.

She is survived by five children; Mrs. Mary Jane Woodruff, Kewanee, IL; Mrs. Nellie Lyman, Johnsburg, PA; Mrs. Bertha Thomas, Bloomington, IL; Mrs. Cinderella Fink and Eugene Sturm of this place. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Stanley Ward at the home Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. Burial was in the Osceaola Grove Cemetery.
