Garth Walter Hogan
LAYTON – Garth Walter Hogan, age 84, passes away Thursday, Oct. 19, 1995 in Layton, Utah. Born May 14, 1911 in Lewiston, Utah, the son of Walter Floyd and Elizabeth Ellen Hyer Hogan. Married Rilla ZeNora Poter on April 5, 1933 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He was a cowboy at heart, actively participating in parades and cattle drives, and was a charter member of the Twin Star Riders. He was an active, life-long member of the LDS Church. He as employed as a meat cutter and state inspector.
Survived by his wife, Layton; children, Lloyd Hogan (Erma), West Bountiful; LaRae Lunsford, (Roy), Layton; Carolyn Stoddard (Morris), Layton; and Dennis Hogan (Coy), Centerville; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, brother, Floyd, Bountiful; sisters Erma McBride, Portland, Oregon, and Wanda Park, Woods Cross.
preceded in death by: his parents, brother Jose, sister, Lois Butler and grandson, Robert.
Funeral services Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 11 a.m. Emerald Ward Chapel, 1015 Emerald Drive, Layton, under the direction of Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery.
